global citizenship poems

The following are examples of year 6 poems on the topic of global citizenship.

Are you a global citizen?

Poem 1: Do you care?

Are you a global citizen?
Do you care for the world?
Because it's your only home,
The only one you’ve got.
Not two, not three, not four.
The one and only!

To be a global citizen
You cherish and protect the world:
You share, get along with others,
Respect and care for them,
And heed nature.
The world is a web,
Which links everything on this planet together.

To protect it from man-made disasters
Reuse, reduce and recycle:
Reuse containers,
Reduce the amount of electricity,
Recycle clothes, cans and paper.

Treat the world the way you like to be treated.

Poem 2: Global citizens

Global citizen
Learning to get along
Only home
Borders and boundaries don't exist
All in it together
Looking after everything.

Connected in a web
In one and only home
To see a world without borders or boundaries!
Interactive communication
Zones full of careless people
Equal human rights
Neighbors to share with
Surely you would have to treat others the way you would like to be treated!

Take action now! The world is in your hands!

We all need to be global citizens

The world needs help.
Everything’s connected,
Like a spider’s web with fine threads,
So that if you break them, the whole of it collapses.
You need to care, you need to respect, you need to protect.
We all need to be global citizens.
Everything surrounding us will soon be gone.
What will you do?

We only have one home: a poem about global citizenship

The world is one and one for all,
And should be cherished and protected by all means.
We only have one home, not two, not three, but one.
The world should be protected and clean for the forthcoming humans.

Global citizenship is about taking care of everything,
Not destroying it.
Everything should be treated fairly,
And also with respect.

We should be protecting the Earth from pollution.
The Earth has done us a favour, by sheltering us humans.
We should protect the Earth to repay the goods and luxuries
It has given us.

Haroon & Raja

The world is our home

The world is our home.
We have to look after it.
Respect the world
And the world will respect you.
Cherish the people that you live with
And treat everyone
The way you would like to be treated.
Now you know how to treat the world.
Do it now before it's too late.

Lucy & Nadia

Global citizenship: playing your part in the world

There's only one world; don't destroy it.
It's not just your world,
Your neighbours live here too.
Be present,
Play your part in the world,
Be responsible for the world.

Look after your neighbours.
Share with them.
Help them.
There are no borders
Between you and your neighbours.

Take your part in the world.
Cherish and protect it.
